Check a loan type

Every loan type has different rate structures — flat rates for car and personal loans, reducing balance for home loans. Our calculators explain the rate basis and show the effective cost.

Why use our calculators

Every number needs a trail.

Calculator examples are not offers. We use the same formulas that banks use — reducing-balance amortisation for home loans, flat-rate calculation for car and personal loans — and show the effective interest rate (EIR) alongside the headline rate.

How we compare loans in Malaysia

We compare loans using the figures that matter most to borrowers: the monthly payment, the total interest paid, and the total amount repaid over the full tenure. We apply the same inputs to every bank so the comparison is fair.

Current loan rates in Malaysia (October 2026)

Personal loan rates from major banks start from 3.78% p.a. (GXBank FlexiCredit, private sector) and 3.06% p.a. (MBSB, government servants). Home loan rates from 2.88% p.a. (Maybank Islamic HouzKEY). Car loan rates from 2.35% p.a. (BSN, Bank Islam).

Frequently asked questions

Are these loan calculators free?
Yes. All calculators on Loan Malaysia are free to use with no registration or lead collection.
How accurate are the calculator results?
Our calculators use the same formulas as Malaysian banks. Results are estimates — actual offers may vary based on your credit profile, income, and the bank's current terms.
Do you rank banks by rate?
No. We show rates from source-checked bank documents and let you compare using your own figures. We are independent and don't earn commissions on applications.
What is EIR?
EIR (Effective Interest Rate) is the true annual cost of borrowing, accounting for how interest compounds. For flat-rate loans (car and personal), the EIR is typically 1.8–2× the quoted flat rate.
